Say the Things

What advice has someone given you that you laughed off then?
But aren’t laughing now?

You can vacuum tomorrow, say the things you need to say to the people you love now. Waiting for that apology? Is it something that took two of you? Apologize for your part.

The trouble is, you think you have time. My little bit of the blogosphere is here for so many things. Reality is so much of it. I’m not here to make travel, things I try, people I meet, or food I try smoother, prettier, kinder, or perfect. Because Life isn’t. And I’m not here to tell you that all of life and every day is going to be rainbows and butterflies. Here’s my ancient secret, it isn’t. If there’s coffee involved, it’s slightly better.

People are mean, things are bumpy, they break, food is gross and our time on this spinning clod of dirt, water and gases is absolutely finite.

So Carrie Bradshaw or Imelda Marcos might tell you to buy the shoes as well, and if you fall in love with them. Buy the shoes. That’s my advice. Definitely eat the cake. We have this very moment. Let’s show up for this one.

Your life isn’t your birthday, or the day you close your eyes for the last time. It’s in the dash in between. Fill your dash. The how is up to you. How will you fill your dash?
