Just asked yourself; “how the heck did I ever make it through that moment unscathed?”
The age of seventeen? Your first tax return? Folding a fitted sheet?
Thing is, we didn’t. I sure didn’t. Life left its share of scars, stories, wrinkles, heartbreak and joy on every second. Well, that is what you’ll find here.
Life.
The good, the bad, the ugly and all the in between. There will absolutely be travel stories, tips, laughter, things to learn, moments of fear and moments that will leave memories for all of us. I’m here to share the stories of the moments and the people both here and abroad that brought me to this moment. So that we can all learn and share.

At this point you’re wondering, “who is this human?” Well, thats me, Amanda. At the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland on my first solo journey. Rookie!
I’m also the one channeling a bit of the violet goddess that was my stunning grandmother Dot. People always ask, where did you get the wandering gene? She’s it. She’s the gene. She and Grandpa George. Postcards from all over, stories of meeting locals; talking about photography and shortwave radio. Multi projector slide shows at the end of every trip.
From road trips with my father, to living multiple places with my mom and stepdad Jack. Journeys are always a part of my life. Past and present and a whole load of future, that is what this will be all about.
Here’s the thing. Blogging? This is a whole new world. For real. I have piles of empty books with lines that I’ve filled with stories. I’m entering a new frontier and there is a whole ton of excitement mixed with a healthy dose of fear. So, please give me your feedback; tips? Tricks? Recipes? Things to try? Make this journey better for all of us. I look forward to bringing you all along. Perhaps finding new perspectives. New places to try. People to get to know.
We all have a story, we’re all a part of each others stories. I challenge you to be the writer of your own story. Thank you for being along for mine, feel free to ask; “Damn, Amanda! Whats next?”
